The Minnesota Wild General Manager, Paul Fenton has clearly gone some sort of vision that he wants to pursue and we always imagined that Nino Niederreiter was a name on the trade block. In the Hurricanes, they found the perfect partner and have even made a slight salary cap saving on the deal.
In dealing Nino it’s the first sign that the General Manager, who took the reins last summer, is starting to mould the team into the shape he sees fit. You could argue that Niederreiter could be viewed at least as somewhat of a core piece and he’s now been dealt.
