Rheaume, 42 (6/21/73), joins the Wild from the Sherbrooke Cougars of the QJHL (Quebec Junior Hockey League), where he led the team to a 73-20-11 record as the team’s head coach over the past two seasons. In each season, the team advanced to the Fred Page Cup Finals, losing in seven games both times. Prior to leading the Cougars, Rheaume was an assistant coach with the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League’s (QMJHL) Sherbrooke Phoenix (12-13) and the Drummondville Voltigeurs (10-11). This marks Rheaume’s first season as an assistant coach in the American Hockey League.
He enjoyed a 17-year playing career, highlighted by a Stanley Cup Championship with the New Jersey Devils in 2003.
