The Minnesota Wild's latest overtime loss, 4-3 to the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday night, felt an awful lot like the team's other six OT losses. And it got coach Mike Yeo to thinking about his team's dismal record in the NHL's new 3-on-3 format.
Now 1-7 in games that ended in overtime, the Wild have lost more games in the sudden death, five-minute extra session than any team in the NHL except the Vancouver Canucks, who also are 1-7. Only two teams have a worse winning percentage in overtime -- Toronto at 0-3 and Anaheim at 0-5 -- but neither has as many losses as Minnesota.
