The Minnesota Wild have had a couple forwards jump into larger roles, evolve into more dynamic players that put more points on the scoresheet, and one of those dudes is Marcus Foligno.
While he has always been one of the best defensive forwards in the league—I will not provide the numbers just look them up, I’m right—the scoring has come in waves so far this season. With seven goals and 16 points through 23 games, he’s reached a new level of production.
Well, unfortunately we won’t be seeing Foligno for quite a while.
In the first period of Friday night’s match against the Arizona Coyotes, the established forward took a Jonas Brodin shot off the skate and eventually hobbled down the tunnel, and was not seen again.
