GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Zach Parise remained in the penalty box Friday night, stuck watching the Arizona Coyotes celebrate a 2-1 overtime win over the Wild.
His high stick penalty early in overtime led to another overtime for loss for the Wild, dropping them to 1-6 in the NHL's new 3-on-3 format.
The game-winner, on a backhand by Mikkel Boedker, came on a 4-on-3 power play because of Parise's penalty.
The Wild earned at least one point for the sixth straight game, but this was still a second straight loss in overtime, an extra session that continues to hurt the Wild.
