The Minnesota Wild traded their final two selections in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, a sixth and seventh rounder, to move up to the 146th overall pick, in the fifth round. With that selection, the Wild took Pavel Novak, a right winger from the Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League.
A native of the Czech Republic, Novak is a right-shot winger for Kelowna and is listed at 5-foot-9 and 170 pounds. General Manager Bill Guerin and crew continue to show that height is not the biggest factor in selecting talent, as three of the Wild’s five selections are under six feet, and the other two come in at exactly six feet tall.
