Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson was downgraded to questionable before the Vikings' game against Detroit Lions with an illness. That illness wasn't the flu or a cold, but rather the result of unfortunate consumption of chewing tobacco.
Per FOX broadcast, Adrian Peterson swallowed his chew on a bumpy team flight Saturday. Vomited upon arrival. Hence, injury report downgrade.

That's surely one of the worst ways to get sick, especially with a game up coming.
However, Pro Football Talk reported that two of its sources were surprised by the report that Peterson became sick from chewing tobacco. Peterson will likely give an explanation of what happened after the game.
Peterson was able to play against the Lions. He recorded just 14 yards on nine carries in the first half.
