The Minnesota Vikings have invested several draft picks in its cornerback position and that has head coach Mike Zimmer feeling good about the Vikings' starters and depth.
“I like our corners," Zimmer told the Star-Tribune. "I think we’ve got a lot of good corners that have a chance. Josh Thomas has come in and he’s shown some things. DeMarcus Van Dyke is a guy, all those guys that we have now are guys that can really run, can really accelerate. We’re starting to get some length in there, so all of these guys have a chance."
Thomas and Van Dyke are expected to be depth pieces for the Vikings this season. They've got former first round pick Xavier Rhodes at one spot and either Captain Munnerlyn or Josh Robinson to man the nickel. This year's first round pick Trae Waynes has struggled early, but is just a rookie. Plus, veteran Terence Newman signed in the offseason.
In a division with Aaron Rodgers, Matt Stafford and Jay Cutler, the Vikings need a strong secondary.
