Zimmer and Teddy Glad for Vikings to Add Laquon Treadwell to Receivers Group

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Mike Zimmer had a question for on Thursday.

The Vikings head coach told Vikings.com’s Mike Wobschall he asked the quarterback, “Would you want to throw to a small guy or a big guy?”

Zimmer said Bridgewater answered, “Always a big guy.”

The Vikings responded hours later by selecting 6-foot-2, 221-pound receiver Laquon Treadwell out of Mississippi at the 23rd overall spot in the draft.

Zimmer said there were plenty of attributes that made Treadwell’s appeal significant beyond his size. The coach from a defensive background said he evaluated players based on how he’d try to stop them, be it a double team or other methods.
