MINNEAPOLIS -- There is an element to the Minnesota Vikings' running game that's gone missing, one that had been a fixture during the Adrian Peterson era and had even shown up at times in 2014, when Jerick McKinnon and Matt Asiata manned the backfield during Peterson's suspension.
McKinnon knows what it is. He feels its absence. And if he is cleared to return from an ankle injury for Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions, he's vowing to bring it back.
"I've got to hit a big one," McKinnon said.
