MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Vikings' second annual Winterfest event, scheduled for this weekend in Prior Lake, Minnesota, will take on a different feel due to the absence of one of its key elements: namely, winter.
Forecasts in the Twin Cities call for temperatures in the mid-50s all weekend, leading the Vikings to cancel the ice fishing contest they'd scheduled for Saturday afternoon on Prior Lake. The team also moved its Winterfest Ice Village from Charlie's on Prior to Lakefront Park, where it is scheduled to open at 4 p.m. There will be no parking for Saturday evening's festivities at Lakefront Park, so the Vikings are encouraging fans to board shuttles at the Dakotah Ice Center, Prior Lake School District offices, Twin Oaks Middle School, the Pointe Bar and Grill or the Prior Lake VFW.
