In addition to their signing of offensive lineman Michael Cindric, the Minnesota Vikings made a handful of other roster moves this Tuesday.
The team has waived defensive back Najee Thompson and offensive lineman Jeremy Flax, both with injury designations. In addition, the Vikings have claimed tight end Neal Johnson on waivers from the New York Jets.
Because Thompson and Flax were waived with injury designations, if no team claims them on waivers before they clear tomorrow, both players will revert to the Vikings’ injured reserve list. While Flax wasn’t likely to make the roster at this point anyway, this is a bit of a disappointment in Thompson’s case, as he had established himself as a solid special teams player in his rookie season.
