Vikings receiver Adam Thielen said he received some grief from the Minnesota State University, Mankato public relations staff last week.
"It was all in good fun," Thielen said.
In his player introduction for Sunday Night Football on NBC during the Vikings' game against the New York Giants on Dec. 27, Thielen, a 2013 Minnesota State University, Mankato grad, announced his alma mater as Mankato State.
That was the name of the school before it was changed -- in 1998. The incorrect introduction led to a few messages sent his way.
"They probably weren't too happy, because they're trying to change the name," he said.
