Hall of famer Roger Staubach was talking to some reporters recently about top young quarterbacks in the NFL. Suddenly, he interjected with a name that hadn't been brought up.
"I said, 'Hey, there's some great quarterbacks, but what about Teddy Bridgewater?' " Staubach said.
Staubach, a Dallas Cowboys quarterback from 1969-79 who threw the famous "Hail Mary" pass to beat the Vikings in the NFC Championsship Game 40 years ago Monday, is a fan of Minnesota's second-year QB.
Staubach, nicknamed "Roger the Dodger" as a player, likes mobile quarterbacks. While Bridgewater doesn't run a lot, he is able to escape a pass rush, extend a play and run for clutch first downs.
