APPLETON, WIS. – The Vikings have had their issues with touchdowns of late, but what happened Friday was a little ridiculous even for them.
The Vikings were heading to their last road game of the regular season when their team plane slid off the runway at snowy Appleton International Airport and become stuck in the grass, turning a flight that takes less than an hour into an ordeal that lasted well into the evening.
Fire trucks wee called in from surrounding communities to help the 150-some passengers aboard the Delta flight off the plane, said Abe Weber, the airport's director, during a news conference.
