MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Treasurer of the Viking stadium board, Duane Benson, has resigned, according to the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority.
Benson announced his resignation at the end of a regularly scheduled meeting Friday.
The Star Tribune reported that Benson stated the reason for his resignation was that he could not work with Chair Michele Kelm-Helgen any longer.
Kelm-Helgen responded saying Benson is simply dissatisfied with the structure of the board.
Also during the meeting, the board voted to put another $5 million into the stadium. The Star Tribune reported this was to be used for WiFi for the stadium.
