The Minnesota Vikings have just announced a roster move that I’m pretty sure nobody saw coming and, quite frankly, I’m pretty perplexed by.
The team has announced that they have signed quarterback Brett Rypien, and in order to make room for him on the roster the team has waived quarterback Jaren Hall.
Hall, after looking rough in the preseason opener, looked very good in the team’s final two preseason games, including a very good performance in Philadelphia to wrap up the preseason. He earned a spot on the roster when the final 53 was announced on Tuesday and there were more than a few folks who thought he should be the primary backup to Sam Darnold ahead of Nick Mullens, but the team has chosen to go in a different direction.
