MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota Vikings announced Thursday they’ve signed Minnesota native Marcus Sherels for the 2018 season, his eighth with the team.
Sherels has been a standout punt returner, filled on kick returns and been steady in the defensive backfield for the Vikings. A Rochester native, Sherels has five career punt return touchdowns and averages 10.4 yards per punt return for his career, both of which lead the Vikings.
He averaged 9.5 yards per return last season and since 2012, he has 23 punt returns of at least 20 yards, which leads the NFL.
