We told you yesterday that the Minnesota Vikings picked up nearly $8 million in cap space thanks to the calendar rolling over to 1 June, and they celebrated on Thursday by signing a cornerback.
For the league minimum.
Numerous sources are reporting that the Vikings have signed cornerback Tye Smith to a one-year contract, giving the team 10 cornerbacks on the current roster.
Smith was a fifth-round pick of the Seattle Seahawks back in 2015. He played in a handful of games for Seattle, and was then on the practice squad of the artists formerly known as the Washington Redskins in 2016.
