Jones, 27, was acquired in a trade from the Giants for a 2019 seventh round choice in August and played in 14 games for the Vikings, including three starts at center.
The native of Weyburn, Saskatchewan, won a Grey Cup with Calgary in 2014 and was the Canadian Football League’s most outstanding lineman that season, after which he signed with the Giants. Jones, 6-foot-2 and 310 pounds, started 14 of his 30 games with the Giants from 2015-17.
• Free agent quarterback Sean Mannion is visiting the Vikings on Monday, an NFL source confirmed. Mannion, 26, was a third-round pick by the Rams in 2015 out of Oregon State and has played four seasons for Los Angeles as a backup.
