EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- To hear Mike Zimmer say it out loud on Wednesday -- "I’m sure that everybody goes into games saying, ‘Hey, we’re going to not let them throw the football and make them run the ball,’" -- was a startling depiction of the current reality for a Minnesota Vikings offense that has been predicated on running since the late years of the Bush Administration.
There's no Adrian Peterson on the field right now, though, and with an offensive line that has shifted in the wake of injuries, the Vikings have found as much trouble running the ball consistently as they have in years.
