MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The Minnesota Vikings made plenty of moves to narrow the roster down to 53 players ahead of the NFL deadline Tuesday afternoon, including the release of recently re-signed Everson Griffen.
The Vikings released the veteran defensive end, along with running back Ameer Abdullah, long snapper Andrew DePaola, guard Dakota Dozier and cornerback Tye Smith.

Although Griffen is technically released, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports that it wouldn’t be surprising if he comes back later in the week.
“Griffen wants to finish his career in Minnesota and many teams are releasing veterans to free up roster spots for a day or two,” Pelissero said.
