Vikings general manager Rick Spielman said Tuesday the team does not plan to trade disgruntled running back Adrian Peterson.
"We have no interest in trading Adrian Peterson," Spielman said at a pre-draft news conference leading into Thursday's draft.
Spielman said that if Vikings owners Zygi and Mark Wilf had wanted to trade Peterson, he likely already would be gone. There has been speculation that Peterson could be traded during the draft if the Vikings got an offer to their liking.
Peterson missed 15 games last season because of a child-abuse incident and was reinstated two weeks ago from an NFL suspension.
