MANKATO, Minn. -- It has been more than seven months since Teddy Bridgewater faced an opposing defense, and the Vikings second-year quarterback is eager to get it on Sunday in the preseason opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
"I'm excited to get back in that game mode," Bridgewater said Thursday. "A week of game planning, it's going to be exciting to get out there and compete."
Bridgewater said he had "no idea" how many snaps he will play the Hall of Fame Game at Canton, Ohio. With four more preseason games scheduled, he is likely to only play a series or two against the Steelers before Minnesota deploys its reserves.
