The Minnesota Vikings have begun the arduous process of going from 90 players to 53, as the first set of cuts began a short while ago:
Neither release is terribly surprising at this point, but both guys seemed to be in the running for awhile. I thought Beniwerke had a chance to stick around when Holton Hill’s suspension went to eight games and Mike Hughes was on the PUP, just for added depth. But when Hughes was activated, the CB depth solved itself, and with the Vikings seemingly intent on keeping Hill, they don’t need to carry an extra cornerback anymore.
