EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- The Minnesota Vikings' defensive tackle depth, which had already been stripped by the loss of Sharrif Floyd to a knee injury, suffered another blow Tuesday.
The Vikings placed Tom Johnson on injured reserve after he tore his hamstring Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts, meaning both of their three-technique tackles from their season-opening roster are now on injured reserve. The Vikings signed defensive tackle Toby Johnson -- whom they'd cut over the weekend to make room for Adrian Peterson -- back to their active roster, and Johnson figures to step into the Vikings' tackle rotation this weekend against the Green Bay Packers, with Linval Joseph and Shamar Stephen the only other healthy tackles on the roster.
