Vikings optimistic about Xavier Rhodes playing this weekend

Cornerback Xavier Rhodes suffered a concussion from his violent collision with teammate Andrew Sendejo in Sunday's victory over San Diego but has recovered enough that the Vikings are optimistic he could play next week at Denver.

"Actually he's feeling great today," coach Mike Zimmer said Monday. "He's already passed one test. I think we should be good to go."

Rhodes was in the Vikings locker room at Winter Park on Monday but declined to speculate on his condition or readiness to face future hall of fame quarterback Peyton Manning and the Broncos this week.

Rhodes left Sunday's game just before halftime and did not return.
