MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — For the second week in a row, a Minnesota Vikings player has been named the NFC defensive player of the week.
Vikings cornerback Terence Newman was honored for his performance in the Vikings’ 30-14 win over the Oakland Raiders last weekend.
He intercepted in the first and fourth quarters, making him one of only two cornerbacks 37 or older to snatch two in a single game.
Newman earned the title once before, back in 2003 during his rookie season.
Last week, defensive tackle Linval Joseph was named the NFC defensive player of the week.
