CANTON, Ohio -- The stars of the first half for the Vikings on Sunday night were MyCole Pruitt and Audie Cole. To borrow from Nat King Cole, they were unforgettable.
Pruitt, a rookie tight end, caught a 34-yard touchdown pass from Mike Kafka in the second quarter. That gave Minnesota a 7-3 halftime lead over Pittsburgh in the Hall of Fame Game, the preseason opener for both teams.
Cole, battling to become the starting middle linebacker, was all over the place on defense at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium, and had three first-half tackles. He had a hit that forced a fumble, which Vikings safety Antone Exum returned 32 yards.
