On the first day of training camp, the Vikings' starting right guard was Mike Harris. He vows that won't change when the regular season arrives.
There's an opening on the offensive line after Brandon Fusco was moved from right to left guard to replace Charlie Johnson, released last February after four years as a Minnesota starter. In a surprise move, camp began Sunday at Minnesota State Mankato with Harris running with the first team after having been a tackle throughout spring drills.
"We talked about it at the end of minicamp,'' Harris said. "The coaches felt like I had a good (spring) and I proved myself that I can start in this league.
