Knapp attended his first training camp in 2000, the summer following a Vikings game that left him forever hooked on the Purple and Gold. Most 24-year-olds don’t have vivid memories of a day that occurred 17 years ago, but the moment was simply unforgettable.
“Randy [Moss] just ran a go route like he always did,” Knapp recalls of the Jan. 2 game against the Lions. “He pushed off the [defender and] trotted into the end zone.”
Moss then jogged over to where Knapp was sitting in a wheelchair and handed him the touchdown ball.
“Him giving me that football completely changed my life,” Knapp tells me.
