Minnesota Vikings cornerback Trae Waynes suffered a shoulder injury during the first drive of the preseason.
Waynes left the game after tackling Buffalo Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins on a five-yard completion from Tyrod Taylor.
The Vikings initially announced that Waynes was questionable to return, but downgraded the third-year corner late in the first quarter.
In training camp, Waynes, who started nine games for the Vikings last season, largely split first-team reps with veteran Terence Newman.
