EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — After the Minnesota Vikings took six sacks and quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was also hit 10 times in last weekend’s loss to the Green Bay Packers, the natural inclination would be to look at the team’s patchwork offensive line.
Minnesota’s line without stalwarts John Sullivan and Phil Loadholt is an easy target. But the breakdowns last week were two-fold, Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said.
“It wasn’t all the offensive line,” Zimmer said. “There was times when Teddy didn’t get the ball out on time. There was times that we didn’t block them, guys missed blocks and their defensive front did a good job, they did.
