Vikings' Josh Thomas an expert packer, wants to stay put

When Carolina players walked into the locker room after an Oct. 21, 2012, loss, they had to settle down a teammate. Josh Thomas was on a tirade.

Thomas grew up in the Dallas area and was selected out of the University of Buffalo by the Cowboys in the fifth round of the 2011 draft. The cornerback thought he had done enough in training camp to make his hometown team, but he was one of the final cuts.

After hooking on with the Panthers, Thomas finally ran into the Cowboys the next season. Host Carolina lost a fourth-quarter lead and fell, 19-14.
