MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator George Edwards will get a chance to boost his resume in one of the NFL's college all-star games later this month.
Edwards will coach the West team in the East-West Shrine Game on Jan. 21, squaring off with Arizona Cardinals defensive line coach Brentson Buckner in St. Petersburg, Florida. The NFL oversees the game, and teams must nominate deserving assistant coaches for spots on one of the game's two coaching staffs. Edwards and Buckner will fill their 12-person staffs with assistants nominated for the game from teams around the league.
