The Vikings have fired offensive line coach Jeff Davidson, coach Mike Zimmer said Tuesday.
Asked why he didn't renew his contract, Zimmer said "I didn't want to."
A candidate to replace Davidson is Dan Campbell, who finished the season as interim Miami Dolphins coach. Zimmer wouldn't comment on Campbell.
Davidson was with the Vikings for five seasons, the last two under Zimmer. Zimmer inherited him from former coach Leslie Frazier.
Minnesota's offensive line had numerous problems during the year. Vikings quarterbacks were sacked 45 times, with starter Teddy Bridgewater going down in 44 of them.
