The Vikings nabbed 33-year-old cornerback Stephon Gilmore over the weekend on a one-year, $10 million deal with $7 million of it guaranteed.
Gilmore turns 34 in September, and is entering his 13th NFL season after being selected 10th overall by the Buffalo Bills in the 2012 NFL Draft.
Gilmore is a five-time Pro Bowler and was the AP Defensive Player of the Year in 2019, but those years are firmly in the rear-view mirror.
Still, Gilmore will likely be expected to start at corner after starting all 17 games for the Dallas Cowboys last season.
It’s difficult to add a player of this caliber this late in the game, but does it make sense for the Vikings?
