MANKATO, Minn. -- The Vikings have committed to hold training camp at Minnesota State Mankato through 2018.
The Pioneer Press reported Tuesday a deal was done for the Vikings to stay in Mankato, their preseason home since 1966. On Wednesday, it was announced as a three-year extension.
The Vikings and Mankato held celebrations this summer to acknowledge 50 straight years of camp here. This contract will extend that to 53 years.
"Announcing this extension with Minnesota State University, Mankato, is a perfect way to celebrate our 50 years together," Vikings owner and president Mark Wilf said in a statement.
