LONDON — A defensive stand by the Vikings that was followed with a 75-yard touchdown drive swayed momentum in Minnesota’s favor on Sunday at Twickenham Stadium.
The Vikings were challenged by the Browns but prevailed in a 33-16 decision in the fourth and final game of the NFL’s 2017 London Series.
Minnesota’s defense faced a goal-to-go situation for Cleveland from the 6 but didn’t allow the Browns inside the 5-yard line. The Browns (0-8) settled for a 23-yard field goal by Zane Gonzalez that gave Cleveland a one-point lead.
The Vikings (6-2) answered with a 1-yard touchdown run by Jerick McKinnon, who followed with a successful two-point conversion run that gave Minnesota a 23-16 edge and the lead for good.
