Vikings defensive end Justin Trattou glad to be back

Defensive end Justin Trattou said Tuesday he turned down a chance to join another team because he wanted to remain with the Vikings.

Trattou was waived Dec. 8 because the Vikings needed help at safety for the game two days later at Arizona. He was re-signed on Monday, taking the roster spot of safety Shaun Prater, who was waived.

Trattou said he was told when let go that the Vikings wanted to bring him back this week. After he cleared waivers, Trattou said he declined a workout invitation from a team he wouldn't name.

"I really didn't want to go anywhere else," he said.
