Vikings: DE Everson Griffen inactive against Chiefs because of illness

Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen was inactive for Sunday's game against Kansas City at TCF Bank Stadium because of illness.

Griffen was a late scratch. He was expected to be replaced in the lineup by rookie Danielle Hunter.

Also inactive for the Vikings was wide receiver Charles Johnson, who has sore ribs. Coach Mike Zimmer had been optimistic he would play.

Others inactives are quarterback Taylor Heinicke, cornerback Jabari Price, center Nick Easton, tight end Chase Ford and defensive end Justin Trattou, who has a foot injury.

Safety Andrew Sendejo, who had been listed as questionable with a knee injury, was active.
