Vikings cut tight end Chase Ford to clear space for CB Robinson

The Vikings on Wednesday were set to activate cornerback Josh Robinson from the physically unable to perform list and release tight end Chase Ford.

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said Robinson would be activated but wouldn't say whose roster spot he would take. However, Ford told the Pioneer Press he is being let go.

"It ain't tough," he said. "It's part of the game. It ain't my first time being cut."

Ford, a fourth-year man, didn't get into any games this season and was active for just one. Wednesday was the deadline for the Vikings to make a decision on Robinson, who began practicing three weeks ago after recovering from a torn pectoral muscle.
