MANKATO, Minn. -- The battle for the long-snapping job between 12-year veteran Cullen Loeffler and third-year pro Kevin McDermott is among the fiercest in camp and must be resolved before the Vikings get creative in the preseason.
"We have to figure out the long-snapper situation right now, so we are probably not going to go for any (two-point conversions) in the preseason," coach Mike Zimmer said Wednesday.
"That's an important position for us and (it's important) to figure out if Cullen is the guy. Cullen has done a great job. He is a tremendous leader and a good kid, so we'll just have to see.
