Jerry Burns was happy to welcome a new member to a rather exclusive club.
Until Sunday, there were only four Vikings coaches with winning career records. Mike Zimmer became the fifth when Minnesota won 23-20 at Chicago to raise his mark in two seasons to 12-11.
"It looks a lot better to have a winning record,'' Burns, who coached the Vikings to a 52-43 mark from 1996-2001, said Monday. " You last a lot longer.''
It's possible Zimmer, above .500 for the first time since he won his debut last year at St. Louis, could fall out of Minnesota's group of winning coaches.
