Vikings coach Mike Zimmer doesn't get caught up in compliments, even when they're from the boss of his boss, the team owner.
The no-nonsense Zimmer has received plenty of praise since he came to Minnesota in January 2014. On Wednesday, owner Zygi Wilf lauded Zimmer, saying he has the makings of a "great coach" because of his ability to teach.
"We've still got such a long way to go," Zimmer said. "I kind of take everything with a grain of salt until we get to where we want to be."
Wilf hadn't talked to the media in nine months until granting an interview to KFAN-FM and talking to a small group of reporters during the Vikings Children's Fund Golf Tournament at Rush Creek Golf Club on Wednesday.
