Vikings beat Carolina 21-13 for their first win of the season

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Vikings gained their first victory of the season, rebounding from an error-filled first half with a second-half rally for a 21-13 victory over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

The Vikings are 1-3 heading into a home game next Sunday against the defending champion Chiefs. The Panthers fell to 0-4.

The game swung in the third quarter when Harrison Smith sacked Carolina quarterback Bryce Young, who lost the ball. D.J. Wonnum scooped up the fumble and returned it 51 yards for a touchdown and a 14-13 lead.

On the Vikings' next possession, Kirk Cousins hit Justin Jefferson for a 30-yard touchdown to give them a 21-13 lead.
