MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota Vikings left tackle Matt Kalil had surgery in the Twin Cities to repair a torn labrum in his right hip, the team announced on Friday morning, while Dr. James Andrews performed arthroscopic surgery on the right knee of defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd.
Floyd, who had surgery to clean up damaged cartilage in his right knee, has now had operations on both of his knees in the past 12 months. He's expected to return this year, though the Vikings could pursue some defensive tackle depth in the meantime. They currently have just three healthy defensive tackles -- Linval Joseph, Tom Johnson and Shamar Stephen -- on their roster.
