The patriotism on display at Vikings games in recent years may have had a dollar sign behind it, according to a new report.
The team is one of 14 in the NFL that have been paid by the U.S. Department of Defense for pro-military promotions, NJ.com reported last week.
The Vikings reaped $605,000 from 2011 through 2013, from the U.S. Army and Army National Guard, according to the report.
The Packers were also on the list, receiving $600,000.
In total, the Department of Defense has given teams $5.4 million. It says the practice boosts recruiting.
