Vikings' Adrian Peterson to skip voluntary workout, as usual

Disgruntled Adrian Peterson is not expected to show up for Monday's first day of Vikings voluntary offseason workouts. However, a source said an initial absence by the star running game would not necessary be a gauge he plans to miss all spring workouts.

The source said the eight-year veteran often hasn't been on hand for the first day of voluntary offseason workouts and that his overall appearance at them often has been sporadic. The only mandatory session the Vikings have in the spring is a June 16-18 minicamp.

Peterson was reinstated by the NFL last week after being suspended for a child-abuse incident.
