PALESTINE, Texas -- A sign at Adrian Peterson Day said it all. It read, "We got your back."
The Vikings star running back missed the final 15 games last season because of a child-abuse incident. But there he was Saturday at a day in his honor being showered with love by several hundred well-wishers in his native Palestine.
"Home, man," Peterson said. "It's so many people before the fame that supported me. ... It says a lot. The people, they know my personality. They now what kind of heart I have. They have been around me my entire life.
